THE WAYS TO PROMOTE YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA ON YOUR BLOG

Social media is probably one of the most traffic-sourcing ways to promote your blog. Not everyone will follow your blog directly so having followers on social media is just important as it promotes your blog to a wider audience. In addition, you also want your regular blog readers to follow your social media so that they can keep updated with everything.

Buttons
Buttons are little clickable pictures/icons that will send you straight to chosen site (example in my sidebar). Using buttons instead of text, in my opinion, polishes off your blog and looks more professional especially when the style and colours complement the blog. These buttons can be brought, made yourself, or simply googled. Once found, then can be easily linked up by using a simple HTML technique then are ready to use.

Widgets
Who remembers the good ol’ bebo days when you’d fill your profile up with widgets? no? just me? okay. But widgets are probably my favourite way to show social media, it’s like you’re giving the viewer a glimpse of each site, whether it’s Twitter, Instagram or Pintrest, you can see a selection of the latest posts to get an taste of what gets posted frequently. There are many sites you can use to get this feature on your blog. For twitter you can get a widget direct of their site (here). For Instagram you could use Snapwidget, Instansive and Websta. There are many more you can use but each of these are quite similar in what they can offer. For Pintrest again you can use their direct site using this link here. However doing a quick google search you can find others.

Contact Page
Probably the most obvious one so make sure you’ve left all your links in a contact page. This is probably the first place people and brands will go if they have means of following you. A contact page is most commonly found at the top of a blog, in a menu bar (like the one above), here is where it will receive the most attention, however can be placed in the sidebar.

Post links
Recently I’ve started adding my social media links at the bottom of every post in smaller text. Although it's a discreetly done, it is still noticeable to everyone that reads the post without stuffing it down their throat, but gives them an option to give it a click and follow.
